About Dr. Brynn Benishake

At Benishake Psychological, I provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel understood and begin creating meaningful change. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and parents to help them navigate challenges and build more fulfilling, balanced lives. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, parenting concerns, or feeling stuck in patterns you’d like to change, you don’t have to face it alone. Together, we’ll identify your strengths and develop practical strategies to help you move forward with confidence.

  • My work is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I believe in balancing validation and empathy with clear direction and actionable tools. Therapy with me is not just about talking—it’s about creating real, sustainable change. We will work together to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs, goals, and life circumstances.

  • I am a licensed psychologist with over 12 years of experience as a school psychologist. I take an integrative approach to treatment, drawing from:

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

    • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

    • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

    • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

This allows me to support clients across the lifespan with a wide range of needs.

  • My goal is to help clients leave therapy feeling:

    • More grounded and confident in taking meaningful steps forward

    • Clearer about their goals and the path to reach them

    • Equipped with practical tools to navigate life’s challenges

    • Empowered to make lasting, positive changes

Our Services

  • Individual therapy provides a confidential, structured setting for personalized psychological treatment across the lifespan, including work with neurodivergent populations. Services are tailored to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma-related conditions, borderline personality disorder, and challenges in emotional and behavioral regulation. Treatment is grounded in evidence-based practices and emphasizes a practical, realistic, and direct approach to enhance insight, strengthen coping, and support meaningful, lasting change.

  • Parent training focuses on equipping caregivers with practical, evidence-based tools to address behavioral challenges and promote healthy development. Treatment includes psychoeducation, skill-building, and ongoing support to enhance consistency and effectiveness in parenting approaches. In high-conflict custodial situations, parent training also emphasizes strategies to support effective co-parenting, improve communication, and maintain consistency across caregiving environments in the best interest of the child.

  • School consultation and advocacy services support families in navigating the school system and ensuring their child receives the services and accommodations they need to succeed. This may include collaboration with teachers and school staff, review of IEPs or 504 Plans, and guidance around requesting and implementing appropriate supports.

The approach is practical, clear, and collaborative—helping parents feel confident communicating with schools and advocating effectively for their child. The goal is to promote academic success, emotional well-being, and consistency across home and school environments.

Our Process:

Session Rates and Insurance

  • Benishake Psychological PLLC is an out-of-network provider and does not participate with any insurance plans. Therapy services are offered on a fee-for-service basis, with payment due at the time of each session.

If you wish to use out-of-network benefits, Benishake Psychological PLLC can provide a superbill—a detailed therapy receipt that can be submitted to your insurance company. Depending on your plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement of session costs. Many clients also use HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Spending Account) funds, which may offer additional tax advantages.

Because insurance policies vary, you are encouraged to contact your provider directly to understand your out-of-network benefits. While Benishake Psychological PLLC can provide documentation, reimbursement cannot be guaranteed.

  • Standard session rates are:

    • $300 – Initial 60-minute diagnostic intake session

    • $275 – Standard 45–50 minute therapy session

    • $400 – Extended 80-minute therapy session

Session length and frequency will be determined collaboratively based on your treatment goals and will be clearly outlined at the outset of therapy. Fees are consistent with those of licensed psychologists in the community with comparable experience and areas of specialization.

  • Payment is due at the time of each session via the secure Simple Practice online portal. Benishake Psychological PLLC accepts:

    • Major credit/debit cards

    • HSA (Health Savings Account) cards

    • FSA (Flexible Spending Account) cards
